Zaki, Terms of Service
Version 2.1 · Effective 9 September 2026
Language: English. The English text is the authoritative version. Translations
are provided for convenience; where they conflict, the English text governs,
except where local law requires the local-language version to prevail.
1. Who you are dealing with
Zaki is operated by Moshe Zaudi, an individual sole trader registered in Israel. In these terms "we" and "us" mean him, and "you" means you. Reach us at [email protected], which is the only address Zaki publishes and which a person reads.
These terms are the agreement between you and us. Two other documents form part of it: the Privacy Policy, which says what happens to your data, and the AI Content Policy, which says what Zaki will and will not make.
Using Zaki means agreeing to all three. If you do not agree, delete the app; there is nothing you have to do first.
2. What Zaki is
Zaki makes a short video from a photograph or from a sentence you write. Every video it makes is five seconds long, vertical, 720p, with sound. There are two ways to get one.
- A template. You pick a dance from the catalogue and add one photo of yourself. A model composes you into the template's scene, and the template's motion drives the result.
- An idea. You write what you want in your own words, in any of the four languages Zaki speaks, and you may attach up to four photographs as reference. Your sentence is translated to English on the way, because the video models read English.
Every video Zaki produces is generated by an artificial intelligence model. None of it is filmed. Each finished file carries a machine-readable marking that says so, in the form the IPTC standard defines for synthetic media, which is what Article 50(2) of the European Union's AI Act has required since 2 August 2026. Section 6 says what that obliges you to do when you publish one.
2.1 The free video
A phone that has never had one is offered a free video.
The free video is a clip we made in advance. We wrote the idea, we rendered it once, and we own it. When you claim it, a copy is placed in your account. No photograph of yours is uploaded or processed for it, no model runs on your behalf, you do not choose what is in it, and nothing is charged. The clip is one of a few we rendered, and it is the same file for everyone offered it.
You may keep it, save it and share it exactly as you may any other video from Zaki, and section 6 applies to it unchanged except that we made it rather than you. One per device, and the device check is described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Who may use it
Zaki is rated 13+ on the App Store, 12+ on older versions of iOS, and we tell Google Play that our audience is 13 and over. You may use it if you are old enough to enter into this agreement where you live, and if you are not, then only with the agreement of your parent or guardian, who is then bound by these terms alongside you. In Israel that follows from the Legal Capacity and Guardianship Law, 5722-1962. In much of the European Economic Area the age at which you can agree to the data processing on your own is 16, unless your country has set it lower.
You may not use Zaki if the law where you are forbids it, or if we have previously closed your account for breaking these terms.
4. Your account
The app opens an anonymous account when it first launches, so that a video belongs to something. You can browse, upload a photograph, claim the free video, save it, share it and delete everything without ever telling us who you are.
To buy anything, or to export your data, you have to sign in, because a purchase needs an account the store can attach itself to and an export needs an account you can prove is yours. Zaki offers Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, and an email address with a password that we have set up for you; the app does not create email accounts or reset passwords. When you sign in, what you made anonymously moves across to the signed-in account.
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in to yourself, whether that is Apple, Google, or your email password.
You can delete your account from inside the app, at Settings → Delete your account. It happens immediately and it cannot be undone. Unspent credits are lost, and a live subscription must be cancelled separately at the store, because we cannot cancel it for you. See how to delete your account and your data.
5. Your photos and your words
5.1 They stay yours
A photograph you upload and a sentence you write remain yours. We claim no ownership of either.
5.2 What you let us do with them
To make you a video we need permission to handle what you gave us. You grant us a licence to store, copy, adapt and transmit your photographs and your words for the sole purpose of operating Zaki for you: screening them, translating your sentence, composing your photo into a scene, sending them to the companies that run the models, and storing the result in your account. The licence is worldwide and royalty-free because the machines are in several countries, it lasts as long as we hold the material, and it ends when you delete it.
It goes no further than that. We do not use your photographs or your words to train any model. We do not publish them, show them to other users, put them in the catalogue, or use them to advertise Zaki. If we ever wanted to, we would ask you, and you would be free to say no.
The companies named in section 6 of the Privacy Policy process your material to run their part of the pipeline. Their terms reach you through us. Each of them forbids roughly what section 9 and the AI Content Policy forbid, any of them can refuse a request we allowed, and we have no power to overrule one on your behalf. When a provider refuses, your credits come back.
5.3 What you are promising us
When you upload a photograph you are telling us, and it needs to be true, that:
- you have the right to use it, and
- every identifiable person in it has agreed to being put into a video by a machine, or the photograph is of you alone.
Publishing a person's photograph in circumstances that may humiliate them is a civil wrong under section 2(4) of Israel's Protection of Privacy Law, and making a video of somebody who never agreed to it is the single thing most likely to turn an amusing five seconds into a claim against you. The AI Content Policy sets out what Zaki refuses on this ground.
6. The video you get back
The video is yours. Whatever rights we hold in the output of a generation you paid for, we assign to you, and you may use it privately or commercially, on any platform, with no watermark on any plan. The free video of section 2.1 is ours and you have a licence to use it on the same terms.
Four things qualify that.
- It may not be protectable. Whether a work made by a model attracts copyright at all is unsettled in most countries, including Israel and the members of the European Union. We are giving you everything we have; what that is worth against a third party is not ours to promise.
- It is not exclusive. Two people who write similar sentences can get similar videos, and neither of them did anything wrong.
- It is marked as machine-made. Every file carries the IPTC marking described in section 2. Do not strip it.
- When you publish it, say what it is. Platforms increasingly require this, and where a video shows a real person, European law requires the person publishing it to disclose that it was generated. That obligation lands on you, not on us, because you are the one who posts it.
7. Plans, credits and money
7.1 Apple and Google are the sellers
You do not buy anything from us. Every purchase is made through Apple's App Store or Google Play. They take the payment, they are the merchant of record, they handle the tax, they issue the receipt and they give the refunds. We never see your card and never hold your money. Their terms govern the payment itself; these terms govern the service you get for it.
7.2 How it works
A plan is a monthly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it, and it grants a number of credits at the start of every billing period. The price, the credit count and the renewal period are shown on the plan card in the app before you buy, and again by the store at the moment of purchase.
A top-up is a one-off pack of credits. Prices and credit counts are shown in the app.
Three rules about credits:
- Plan credits reset. Whatever is left of the month's grant goes when the next period starts. They do not roll over.
- Top-up credits do not expire. They sit there until you spend them.
- Spending anything needs a live plan. The plan is the entitlement; the credits are the meter. If your plan lapses, top-up credits stay in your account and wait, and you get them back the moment you subscribe again.
A generation that fails on our side or is refused by a model is refunded to your balance automatically. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts and cannot be exchanged for money.
We keep your videos until you delete them, and we are not a backup service: download anything you would be sorry to lose. A photograph you upload is deleted after seven days, once it has done its job. The Privacy Policy sets out every period in section 8.
7.3 Prices
Prices are set per country by the store and are shown in your own currency, inclusive of any tax the store collects. We can change prices; a change to a plan you already hold takes effect at the next renewal and the store tells you before it does, which is your chance to cancel.
8. Cancelling and refunds
8.1 Cancelling a subscription
Cancel on the store's own screen: Settings → your name → Subscriptions on an iPhone, or Google Play → Payments and subscriptions on Android. The app links straight to it. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the plan until the period you have paid for runs out. Neither store lets us cancel on your behalf, which is why there is no button here that pretends to.
8.2 Refunds
Ask the store. Apple takes refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com and Google through the Play Store's order history. They decide, under their own policies. If a store refunds you, the corresponding credits are removed from your account.
If a store turns you down and you think we should make it right anyway, write to [email protected] and tell us what happened. We would rather hear about it.
8.3 If you are in Israel
The Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981 gives you the right to cancel a distance sale within 14 days of the transaction or of receiving the transaction details, whichever is later, and for a continuing service that right holds even after the service has begun. If you are 65 or older, a person with a disability, or a new immigrant, and you spoke to a representative in the course of buying, the window is four months.
Where a cancellation fee may lawfully be charged it is capped at 5% of the price or ₪100, whichever is lower, and no fee at all is due if you are cancelling because something was wrong on our side. A refund is due within 14 days of the cancellation notice.
Send a cancellation notice to [email protected] with your order details. Because the payment was taken by Apple or Google, we will need to pass it to them, and we will tell you that we have. Nothing in this section takes away anything the Consumer Protection Law gives you.
8.4 If you are in the European Economic Area
You have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract for digital content. Where you ask for the content to be supplied immediately and acknowledge that you lose the withdrawal right by doing so, that right ends once supply begins; the store presents that acknowledgement, not us. The withdrawal right for the subscription itself is exercised through the store. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Directive or your national law implementing it.
9. What you may not do
The AI Content Policy lists what Zaki refuses to make, in the same categories the software actually uses, and it forms part of this agreement. Beyond it, do not:
- upload a photograph of somebody who has not agreed to it;
- make a video of a real, identifiable person in order to deceive anyone about what they did or said;
- use Zaki to break the law where you are, or to help anyone else do so;
- resell Zaki, or run it as a service for other people, without our written agreement;
- take the app apart, work around the screening, automate it, or hammer the API;
- share an account, or hold several accounts to get the free video more than once;
- pass off a video Zaki made as a filmed recording of a real event.
10. Screening, refusals and appeals
Every photograph is classified before it is stored, and every sentence is checked before any credit is charged. Both checks are automatic, and both can refuse you. A refusal costs you nothing.
Classifiers get things wrong. If yours did, write to [email protected] with the date, the time and the job reference if you have one. A person reads it and answers within 14 days.
Every finished video has a report control on it. Reports are read and acted on; the AI Content Policy says what happens next.
11. Our material, and taking things down
The app, the site, the name, the mark and the template catalogue are ours or our licensors'. Nothing in these terms gives you a right to any of it beyond using Zaki as it is meant to be used.
The dance templates are built from clips whose creators gave us permission to use them, and we keep a record of who and when for each one. If you are a rights holder and you believe something on Zaki uses your work without permission, write to [email protected] with what the work is, where it appears in Zaki, why you hold the rights, and how to reach you. We will look within 14 days and remove anything we should not be using. This is the route under Israel's Copyright Act, 5768-2007 and under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act alike.
12. Availability and change
Zaki depends on other companies' models. Any of them can change, raise its price, refuse a request or disappear, and when that happens we swap the model underneath without changing what you get: five seconds, vertical, with sound.
We can change these terms. When we do, the version and effective date at the top change, and if a change materially reduces what you get we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you do not accept a change, stop using Zaki and cancel; the change does not reach back into a billing period you have already paid for.
13. Ending it
You can leave at any time by deleting your account. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the content policy, and for anything short of the severe cases we will tell you why and give you a chance to answer. For material that is illegal, and for repeated attempts to defeat the screening, we act immediately.
If we close your account for a breach, unspent credits are forfeit. If we close it for any other reason, or stop the service, we will refund the unused part of a plan you have paid for through the store.
14. What we do not promise
Zaki produces what a model produces. We cannot promise that a video will look like what you imagined, that it will be accurate, that it will suit any purpose you have in mind, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as it is.
This does not touch your rights as a consumer. Where Israeli or European consumer law implies a term into this agreement that cannot be excluded, it applies and this section does not.
15. What we are liable for
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit. That includes the mandatory protections of the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981 in Israel and of consumer law in the European Economic Area, which apply whatever this section says.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for what somebody else does with a video you made and published. Our total liability to you for everything arising out of this agreement is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.
That cap is a business judgement made by a one-person company, not a legal opinion. If a court where you live will not enforce it against a consumer, it does not apply to you, and the rest of these terms stand without it.
16. If a video you made causes a claim
If you use Zaki as a business or a professional rather than as a consumer, you will cover us against claims, damages, losses and reasonable legal costs that arise from your breach of these terms, from what you uploaded or wrote, or from what you did with a video afterwards. That includes a claim that a photograph you uploaded infringed somebody's rights, or was used without the agreement of a person in it.
If you are a consumer, this section applies only as far as the law protecting you permits, which in Israel and across the European Economic Area is not very far.
17. Which law, which court
This agreement is governed by the law of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, that does not cost you anything. You keep every protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in your own local courts. For consumers in the European Union, the online dispute resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. In Israel, the Consumer Protection and Fair Trade Authority takes complaints.
18. If you downloaded Zaki from Apple
Apple requires these to be said, and they are accurate.
- This agreement is between you and us. Apple is not a party to it.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for Zaki. Bring everything to [email protected].
- If Zaki fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if there was one. Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for any claim about Zaki: product liability, a failure to meet a legal requirement, a consumer protection claim, or a claim that Zaki infringes somebody's intellectual property.
- You confirm you are not in a country subject to a United States embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any United States list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
19. The rest
If a court strikes out part of these terms, the rest keeps working. Not enforcing something once does not mean giving it up. You cannot transfer this agreement; we can, if Zaki changes hands, and we would tell you in the app before it happened. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the AI Content Policy are the whole agreement between us about Zaki.
